It is Onix, I need to change the size on the angel photo, it came up to big,...
also it was unfinished, when I photographed it, so the colors don't show much yet,..I should have taken another photo today,..but I forgot...

Sometimes, Alabaster is better,..real marble or granite are probably the best material,...the stone I had for the angel was close to the same quality of alabaster,..
Thanks for stopping by, and the comments..too,...

On the cooyotte we see the veines of the stone look fragil.
I never try to sculpt. But i think i will not have the hand the eye for it.
Do you ever try to use scupltris software. it is very different then with a modeleur. Start from a sphere and with some special sculting tool
we make a piece or a head .
There one free the name is sculptris i will post you the link.

I found the link

Both the coyote and the fountain are cantera, yea and it has these "veins" that are extremely hard, the rest of the material is soft, allthough it can be pretty, it is extremely "problamatic" when working with it, crumbles, falls apart, it is fragil.
The veins, are sort of like threads, and like a knitted sweater, when they get "cut" or broken, the whole thing starts to "unravel", or in the stones case fall apart,..
